Accessibility Statement
Effective date: July 24, 2026
Kenneth D. Thompson Sr. (“The DEI Guy”) is committed to making thedeiguy.com accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We work to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work, not a checkbox.
What we do
To make our Site more accessible, we:
- Use semantic HTML and proper heading structure for screen readers
- Provide text alternatives for images
- Maintain sufficient color contrast for text and interactive elements
- Make the Site keyboard-navigable
- Caption or transcribe video content where possible
- Test with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation
Where we fall short
Accessibility is never finished. We’re aware that some areas of the Site may not yet meet WCAG 2.1 AA, especially:
- Older content created before our accessibility improvements
- Embedded third-party content (videos, social feeds) that we don’t fully control
- Complex interactive components that we’re still improving
If you encounter a barrier, we want to know.
Tell us about a problem
If you have trouble using any part of our Site because of a disability, contact us — we’ll do our best to fix the issue and provide the information you need in another format if needed.

We aim to respond within 5 business days.
Standards we follow
This Site is designed to conform with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. In the United States, we also align with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
For visitors in the European Union
We aim to comply with the European Accessibility Act and EN 301 549. If you’d like to file an accessibility complaint, you may do so with your national enforcement body.
